We go hunting amethysts

Let it be said that geology can also be playfull ! The proof stands in the locality of Vernet-la-Varenne, where enthusiasts workers of "La maison de l’Améthyste” have no problem sharing and transmitting their passion for this science.

The apprentice prospectors go to the ravin de Pégut, which once was one of the biggest amethyst deposit of the Livradois. They were beforhand equipped with a hard hat, a geologist’s hammer and a magnifying glass. (…) At the end of this original tresor hunt, everyone leave glad with its hoard : pieces of this purple quartz called amethyst.
